Joko Agus Setyono Appointed as Newly City SecretaryHe assessed that improving the quality of Human Resources (HR) is the key to the success of national development. The Jakarta Government has a strong commitment to developing ASN competencies, thus they are of higher quality by always providing the widest possible space for all ASNs to learn to improve their competencies.
Moreover, the number of ASNs is relatively large, around 55,000 people and it is not easy to manage such a large number of ASNs.
"Surely, there must be a strong will from the leaders and I have also received direction from the Acting Governor that the development of HR competencies in the Jakarta Government is very important," he explained.
The commitment to improving the quality of human resources that has been carried out has yielded tangible results with various ASN performance achievements and various prestigious awards won by the ranks of the Jakarta Government.
Most recently, the Jakarta Government through the Jakarta Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Service (PMPTSP) won the Platinum Award or General Champion at the 2023 Public Relations Indonesia Awards (PRIA) by winning eight awards at the same time which obtained after competing with 836 entries for the best communication/public relations performance works from 236 institutions in the most comprehensive communication or public relations performance competition in Indonesia.
He uttered that the various achievements and performance achievements that were achieved were inseparable from good planning by the ranks of the Jakarta Government.
“This award is a form of achievement from the hard work we have done together. There are no unplanned achievements. So, all activities that lead to success and the best results must have been well planned," he uttered.
He added maintaining the achievement would be more difficult than when it was first obtained. Hence, consistency and creativity are the keys to Jakarta's progress.
His party also continues to improve learning facilities and infrastructure in order to develop ASN competencies within the Jakarta Government.
From a conceptual standpoint, the Jakarta Government plans to make regulations requiring employees to have a target of participating in 50 hours of competency development learning in one year.
"We will make it mandatory for all employees in the Jakarta Government to study at least 50 hours a year, we will make the rules soon, thus no employee is 'unemployed', even behind in terms of knowledge, but instead has good and adequate competence," he closed.
